Access Statement

We welcome everyone at The Old Bakery.
If you have any specific requests or questions that you would like to discuss with us, please call or email.

House Layout

The house is on one level with a 20cm high doorstep to The Baker’s Suite and a 20cm high doorstep to the front door, giving access to the farmhouse style kitchen. There is a 14 cm high step down into the en-suite bathroom in The Baker’s Suite.

There is parking for 2 cars on a shingle driveway with parking available right next to The Baker’ Suite door. There is a paved pathway leading to both doors.

There is a cloakroom toilet with washbasin by the kitchen.

The bedroom is not suitable for people with pet allergies as we allow guest dogs to stay.
It has a carpeted floor & the bathroom has an anti-slip tiled floor.

There are 2 dining chairs and a dressing table chair with no arms. There is an armchair and chaise long.

The external door to the Baker’s Suite is a stable style door and is 84 cm wide; the door to the en-suite bathroom is 67cm wide.

There is a bath with shower over. There are no screens around the bath.

The sink in the bathroom is attached to the wall with a minimum clearance of 66cm underneath

The toilet is 43cm from the floor and the bath in 55cm high

We welcome any dogs, including assistance dogs.
We have pet dogs of our own (Purdy & Chester). They are not permitted in the guest bedroom or the kitchen whilst we are preparing food. However they do have access to the rest of the house, so The Old Bakery would not be suitable for anyone with a severe dog allergy.
Purdy & Chester are Springer Spaniels and can be a bit bouncy! If guests request we can keep our dogs away for the duration of the stay, especially if guests dogs are nervous or don’t like to meet new dogs. Please be aware there are quite a few dogs living in the Village too.

We do not own cats/chickens/children! However we are a rural community and there is livestock in nearby fields. Many of the numerous local footpaths and bridal ways cross farmland.
